Member: 660046 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Help please! N70 Cannot change firmware! Phone Problems: Cannot Turn ON / No Display The step I do to repair: 1. I turn on the set, it no display -> I test it with JAF, it can boot. 2. I flash it with JAF -> It can turn on and splash/blink NOKIA logo for about 0.1 second after that WHITE screen forever. 3. I try change LCD -> Turn it on, display is OK. It display NOKIA logo a while, after that it display "Service Error". After that I press ok, and then try to change somes setting, it also show "Service Error". 4. I navigate the phone software, sometimez ok, but always to slow / hang -> I try full charge the battery, it seems ok, but occasional slow/hang. 5. I change the setting, wallpaper, save. It can be change -> but when I turn off and on again, it back to the old one. 6. I try to full format * many times -> The format very fast like skiping the process / no indicator the phone is formating -> No effect, no change in wallpaper and themes 7. I flash to version V5.0737.301 * many times - (It seems the flashing proses is OK) -> No change in wallpaper and themes and also firmware! -> I check the phone software version it is still: V 5.0638.3.0.1 18-09-06 RM-84 8. Now what should I do? Help please. |

From reading this forum, it has some solution by change display ic or remove some ic/smps or make a jumper. Before I remove the cover to try the solution the phone suddenly can't switch ON. After that I ask someone to try revive the phone by flashing it. He used tornado. When flashing, the phone has "2nd boot error log" but the flashing continue to the end. After flashing finish. I try switch ON the phone, luckly the phone come alive with it original white screen problem. Then I think before I do something with the hot air soldering station, why not I try change the LCD first. Ok, I change the LCD. Luckly it got display with "System Error". The display is same like the picture I upload. Then I try to used the phone to test it functioning. No problem when I make a call. But when I navigate the phone, it runnning very slow and always hang aspecialy when using camera. I try to used full charge battery, the problem also occurs but not always, it is sometimes only. When I try to change some setting it always show "System Error". If I can make change to the setting, when I turn the phone OFF and ON again, it will come back to previous setting. I try to full format and flash it with my J.A.F using latest firmware, but it seem it can't change the firmware inside the phone. >> Did u try a downgrade? I just try downgrade the phone. No effect. The phone still switch ON like the above picture. >> BTW as I am not using JAF, is it normal that it doesn't provide the APE chips name? Post a HWK log if u have that plz. I like to have HWK. But I don't have it. Last week, I do ask someone to try flashing the phone. He flash it with his tornado. I remember it give "2nd boot error log" but the flash process continue until end. But the result is same. The phone still switch ON like the above picture. After that he don't know what to do. And now the latest thing I do is erasing the phone using the given files above and downgrade the phone. But also no effect to the phone.
