Angry I HATE the 3310 INTEL flash!!

Geeez, this thing is a piece of s$*#. The base is a flexible PCB, combined with its smaller height makes reballing it is a nightmare. Ive spend 2 hours on 1 IC and the balls are still not done properly. I can do the ST one in 5 minutes, but this is ridiculous

Scaramouche
i think, ST used 0.4 mm ball or 0.35 mm!
try to use tin ball 0.3mm for intel flash rom !
and if you used hot air (like hakko 850) , then you put air "1",."heater"2.5" ,and needed good flux to work it too!

It is better to replace flash with new one. If you rework Intel flash many times most of the time it is already broken from to much heat.

Bugger, they are a pain in the arse!!! One has already developed warping from the heat. Ive got the grey paste rework kit, not the ball one.
