put the speed of your infrared device to 57 kbps and it'll work (it's in network adapter or device manager-infrared adapter)

of course it can use 57 kpbs
the problem you have is that the phone disconnects every 2-3-4 seconds ?

As a workaround, you may change the default setting of the
"Transceiver type" in Device Manager by doing the following steps :
1. Windows XP : go to "Control Panel"- "System"- "Hardware"-"Device Manager"-"Infrared Device"
Windows 98/ME : go to "Control Panel" - "Network" - "Configuration" - "SigmaTel US-IrDA Dongle"
2. Double click "SigmaTel USB-IrDA dongle".
3. Select "Advanced".
4. Change the default "Infrared Transceiver Type" to "Vishay TFD". (the default type is "Infineon <default>"
5. Set the "Speed Enable" to "400000".
6. Click "OK" to exit.
7. If you still encounter problem during transmission, you may need to go to step (5) to set the "Speed Enable" to lower speed, i.e., "115200" or "57600".
