Most Simple 24Cxxx Programmer Ever!

Hello,

Below is the worlds most simple EEPROM programmer for 24Cxxx
with Pony Prog. No components needed, just wires and a
DB-9 Female Connector.

COM Port PIN3 -------------Connect to-----> EEPROM PIN8(VC)
COM Port PIN4+PIN8 -------Connect to-----> EEPROM PIN5(SDA)
COM Port PIN5 -------------Connect to-----> EEPROM PIN4(GND)
COM Port PIN7 -------------Connect to-----> EEPROM PIN8(SCL)

Configure Pony Prog Hardware to:

Serial
SI Prog API

OR

Serial
S/I Prog I/O

Tips and Tricks:

1. On some phones, you can read EEPROM contents without
removing the IC from the PCB. To do this, you must connect
a fast charger to the PCB so that there would be enough power
for programming... (Because neighboring ICs tend to steal power
during I.C.P. <In-Circuit-Programming). You can do this easily
on 61xx/51xx, but you will have problems with 3210s...

2. On some phones, you cannot program EEPROM even if you
connect fast charger. For these phones, you must lift PINs 5,6,7,8
from the PCB and leave PINs 1,2,3,4 still soldered on the PCB.
Now solder wires to the PINs 5,6,7,8 and connect it to your
EEPROM programmer. Don't forget to solder GND to any exposed
GND on PCB. You don't need to connect fast charger anymore.

3. When EEPROM is still on PCB, there are some memory areas
that you cannot reprogram. You must lift PINs 5,6,7,8 to be able
to program the entire memory area!

Warning:
The "No Components" EEPROM programmer is my own design,
but you must use it at your own risk. Many might think that this
design is far too risky because it is not regulated in any sense.
I will not be reponsible if you will damage EEPROMs while
using my design, but I can assure you that my design works
on almost 100+ phones in reparing all locks closed EEE FFFF
a long time ago.

Best Regards,
X-Shadow

if you want to read eeprom of 5110 (24c16) and 6110 (24c65),
you don"t need any pony programmer tools and hardware, you can use nokiasp 1.0.1 to dowdload and upload the eeprom, if it was a higher version , and not support, the easy way is to downgrade the firmware use rolis 4.77, after that you can download your eeprom and upload it.

Cool

Can a DSP ROM3 5110 be uploaded with any eeprom from a good DSP ROM4 kind of NSE-1 phone? Just curious.

Thanks in advance.
