Member: 188959 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 7 | DON'T replace the PA or flash anything until... Firstcheck if the handset is fluid damaged.Look up 1amigos post on repairing fluid damaged phones, and follow instructions. I rarely see a handset turn itself off due to a corrupted flash, and a PA prob is reasonably easy to diagnose.PA's strip battery power very quickly, so plug handset to charger ,and make a phone call.If the phone doesn't turn off, or battery doesn't discharge, then the battery is at fault. If the handset clips, and gives a low battery warning ,even though it is on charge , then the PA is the culprit. If unit just turns off ,with no warning at all, then 99% fluid damaged. If you have a decent multimeter, connect to pos /neg terms on battery, while connected to phone, and turn unit on /off repeatedly.Measure boot up and idle voltages. If idle V is above 600 ma, you have a short somewhere caused by probable fluid damage. If you have a power suppply, connect to phone, set at 3.6 V , turn handest on.The PS will tell you how much it is drawing.Refer to previous voltage measurements for results. Hope this helps... |
