Nokia 5800 LCD problem - GSM-Forum

Hi. Im experiencing some problems with my Nokia 5800. I managed to brake the lcd screen on it, but the phone remained fully functional. I was able to dial, receive calls, make videoes and stuff, but the screen did not work(the screen would be all colourly with vertical lines crossing over the whole height of the screen making it impossible to see anything)

I bought a new screen on ebay which arrived today. I disassembled the phone and replaced the LCD screen with the new one from Hong Kong. But it seems the problem persists!

With the new screen the problem appears a bit different. When i turn the phone on, it vibrates, it goes on, etc. It works. Even the screen actually lights up, but no picture ever appears on it. It only lights up. When i tried switching back to the old screen the problem would appear like it did in the begining(all colourly)

Does anybody know what this problem can be caused by? I mean, i must of connected the screen properly for it to be lighting up, but i never get any picture!

Im grateful for any help i receive.

Ill give it a try. Although i think the problem is of another nature, but im not sure. The original screen went nuts when i dropped it from a height accidentally, but to begin with it was working okay, but then it gradually became just like the one you linked to.

hi mates....what kind of magnet is that? Any suggestions in particular what to use?

One more thing ... what has a magnetic field to do with this problem?

personally used magnet of moto v3 audio cap + bi adesive,fit perfect.

I am facing a strange complaint with 5800,when make call or incoming call lcd goes blank,I chnged lcd,Earpiece,sencer etc.&attached magnet on lcd But still facing same problem.Pls give me solution
