Nokia 6630 in Offline Mode - GSM-Forum

Hi Guys!

I want to know, if it´s normal, when i start my 6630 without a SimCard it starts normal (like i would have a sim in it), but it´s in Offline Mode without Network-Connections?!?

Hi.

I have a 6680, blocked, so I can use it only without net conection.

But, one thing is very curious, if i put inside my sim card, even i dont have any chance to make or receive phone calls, the phone can connect to the GPRS to download games or whatever.

How its possible that, with the same sim card inside, the phone can't make any call, but can connect to the net to download things?

When it does, the time conected is charged to my account?

Are the SP that clever to not to let me call, but let me spend my money in the other way?

Maybe it sounds stupid, but I admit my lack of knowledge about this matter.

I thank you if give me any advice.

What do you mean "unlocked from the offline mode" ?
It is always in offline mode (it doesn't see the SIM card) or is locked ?

i have a strange problem with my 6630 (locked to Orange UK)
When i put a non orange sim card in and boot up my phone it asks me if i want to work in an offline mode, i choose yes and after that phone gives me message like "sim not correct" or something simmilar and i cant operate on my phone at all.
As far i understood all of u guys can put a sim and work in an offline mode and even browse www using gprs. I cant, and i dont know how to solve it. I made a hard reset (3 - button trick) and it didnt helped.
I can operate without any simcard in offline mode but when i put any simcard in (non orange uk ofcourse) i kept getting that "sim not correct" message
Give me any hint what can i do to make it working

I know that its locked but other people can put ANY simcard and enter offline mode (in locked phone) and even browse web through GPRS
Probably u misunderstood me

if when u pot sim card phone in offline mode ur sim card ic is damged u must chane it
if when u pot sim card phone sim not vaild ur phone is locked and u cant unlock it
phone with out sim card start in normal mode if locked or sim card ic damged
