Nokia 7370 - swivel animations still non-functional after activation on phone? - GSM-Forum

Is there a specific sensor or chip that activates the animation? When I swivel the phone open, the screen is the same; meaning, it's upside-down when closed, and stays like that. Should it switch around and have a sound if I have it on? I have seen a 7373, and the screen switches around when the swivel is opened and closed. Also, when using the camera, the upside-down image makes it difficult to use the camera when closed. I am guessing something got damaged, but I don't know what. I replaced the LCD screen and am going to replace the keypad, since one of the LEDs has corroded. Everything else is perfect. Running firmware v3.52 EURO variant. Is the sensor/chip in the swivel mechanism itself, or is there a contact? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I have the Nokia 7370, and I have accidentally cracked the LCD screen. I have already purchased a replacement from eBay, and I have started disassembling my phone, but now I am stuck. I read that you replaced your LCD screen, so any instructions to guide me through this would be very helpful.

It seems it should be easy, but I am nervous to touch something I shouldn't or to break something...

There's two magnets on the screen portion of the phone. If you pull the fascia off the phone and then remove the LCD screen, the magnets are attached to the housing/metal plate with the lamour designs etched into it. When replacing the fascia or LCD screen, make sure those magnets are in there because it triggers the swivel animations and other swivel related actions.

i have one that swirls by itself, pcb is clean and i replaced the magnets but same problem any ideas? don't tell me that it's software problem.
