Nokia 7610 Dead-ish after unlock - GSM-Forum

hey hey, I have a nokia 7610 which was given to a friend who tried to re-set the security code with a cable, he failed and now all that happens when I switch the phone on/charge it is I get the nokia logo, followed briefly by the signal icon and the bar underneath then “Phone startup failed, Contact the retailer”. I do have some experience with phones but its limited and just wanted to know if the phone was beyond repair or if it needed new software/firmware (phone was working fine before the unlock). PS If anyone could let me know where I could find a english 7610 flash file I’d be grateful.

hey, i formatted the user area like you said but with the 3 keys option and it worked a treat, the phone is now working perfectly. Many thanks to those above who replied!
