Nokia 8310 turning itself off

My Nokia 8310 has recently intermitantly started turning itself off. The battery is fine and fully charged, and I couldn't relate its failure to anything specific.
Upon dissasembly I noticed that a very small battery about 4.8 x 1 mm located just below the ON button is leaking, and probably causing the switch to intermitantly activate. I can't find this battery on any spare parts list. Does anyone know anything about it? Can it be replaced, and if not should I just remove it. I suspect its used for memory backup when the main battery is removed.
Thanks.

Cleaning the area around the battery with a toothbrush and metho has fixed the problem, but I would like to replace the battery if I could find a replacement. Does anyone know where they can be obtained.
Thanks Greg.G
