Member: 771165 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | NOKIA 9300 Keyboard Help Recently ive bought used (2 weeks old) 9300 with french keyboard layout. Didnt see the phone before buying couse it was mailed @ me and the guy said it was an english keyboard layout. Surprize surprize when delivery came. Its a french keyboard layout. French keyboad layout is not qwerty or qwertz like Im used to, its azerty layout with total mixed up key order. In fact to type numbers I have to press caps each time to activate the number position @ number keypad, the position of "M" is so anoing that Im freakin out while writing emails or SMS, another thing, to type a dot, a simple dot, you have to press shift key....thats the thin that I never gonna learn while typin URLs for example...terible experience all together. Now, i have another 9300 device with German qwertz key order. Thats the key order I use in my native language keyboard. But unfortunately my wife washed the phone in washin mashine with all clotes. So Im forced to use french keyboard. Sellin the phone & get another with qwerty or qwertz keyboard will be a nice thing to do right now. But Im more interesting in solving the problem rather then sellin the device. Now questions! Where does NOKIA 9300 store keyboard driver for key mappin, in the rom with other OS install files or in some controller that can not be accessible at all? Thats cuse if driver is stored in the rom a simple flashin of another localized version of OS, like german version i am used to use will do the job! What will hapend in another way? Im talkin about german ver of keyboard couse i have german keyboard plastics from washed phone (batery and sim survived washin )) Is it posible in any way to solve this kind of problem at all (except sellin the device )? Is there any way to remap my unusable keyboard? Any app i should use? Tnx in advance Last edited by njosra; 05-13-2008 at 01:47. Reason: E-mail notification option |
