Changing clock IC will correct the fault if the clock crystal was bad, but in the case of those who were not lucky to get their phones back in good shape after change of clock crystal, the most likely cause is the power management IC or UEM (Universal Energy Module). i think clock ic as described in post is rtc( real time clock) not clock crystel .........crystel is for network section both do the prb of hang.. mostly by rtc the prb created in any handset of nokia or samsung or any china mobile too.... i solved many with this what not always many time firmware, cpu and flash create the hang prb.
