On the 12-line display/light track, tracks 2,3,5,6,7, and 8 are very crucial to LCD display while 10 and 11 are for light, the remaining 1,4,9 and 12 are ground. So check for open circuitry in the display lines in particular. By open circuit I mean discontinuity in the track or break in the line as against what some people just coined from their mind and call it shorting while this means an illegal connection between electrical points which leads to increased power consumption in most cases.
