Nokia C5-00 (RM-645) headphone jack not working/Scratchy Sound

I recently reconstructed mine, and up on completion I noticed that the Headphone/Line out isn't working. When I plug headphones in I can't hear a thing. When I attach my amp, to the headphone jack I can hear something, however it sounds all scratchy and faint. and I can't make out a single word.

Anyone know what the problem is, and getting a new phone isn't an option.

If the problem is minor I could attempt to repair it myself.

Would this be able to be repaired by a mobile repair company. I don't want to use the Nokia Repair centre, since my phone's out of warranty and rebuilt and it has a different firmware on then what came with it.

Thanks
