Smile pls. uplod the video of fixing Nokia 5130 Keypad IC..

Hello Friends,

You will definitely agree with me that changing Keypad IC of Nokia 5130 / 7210c is very very tough because in most of the occasion, you will not be able to fix it up in first time. It takes at least 4/5 IC's to be replaced. Only then you will get success.

So, I would request you to pls. uplod the video of fixing Nokia 5130 Keypad IC..

Advance thanks to all,

Problem mainly comes at the time of removing solders from the PCB Keypad Point i.e. under the IC?

If I use De-soldering Wick, there is a possibility to distort the connecting point under the Keypad ic.

How to clean this solder and fix it up in one shot?

you dont realy have to clean it to be flat ..... with desoldering wick you can easyely rip points of the board.

just clean the area , and take your solder iron and move it around the points with a bit of solder , you'll see the points become clean and almost flat.
after all points are the same just clean and replace the ic , give it a bit of heating to stick it in place , then reheat with more heat and fun.
good luck

Nokia 5130 2,5,8 & 0 key's are not working. Other switches are ok.

Which IC is responsible for that? Upper or Lower IC?

Advance thanks to all.

applicable for the "noob hands" only.
i changed hundreds, even first changed was at first try working.
it's all in your hands - you "have it" or not have it, that kind of skill

it's Z2401 ... there is no upper or lower ic,
check SCHEMATICS HERE and you will know which one.

Absolutely precisely. There are no upper or lower ic .There are no small and big ic. There are item number of component. Open the schematics, in it all answers. And in services manuals 3-4 level (SM_L3_4)there is an algorithm of repair on each malfunction. Silly to repair phone on color pictures.
If ic it is badly soldered, it is necessary to increase temperature and soldering time.
