I took a Lumia 720 apart to replace a broken earpiece, after reassembly the phone is dead, no power on, won't respond to hard reset, doesn't power up when put on charge. side from earpiece phone worked fine before repair.

My first thought was that I'd left something unplugged, but took apart again and double checked everything and that doesn't seem to be the case.

Guess I might have static shocked and cooked main board during disassembly, but seems unlikely.

Any ideas?

My nokia 6700c is at 13.20 (unlocked but Orange branded) and I would like to get it to an (unbranded) 13.10. Most of the listed methods seem fairly terrifying to me.
I had a look round in the 13.10 mcusw file using a binary/hex editor and there is one place where the code for 13.10 appears. It would be a simple matter to change this to 14.10 and save the file (also changing the file name to 14.10). Is there the remotest chance that this would fool the phone into thinking it was being upgraded or is this a good way of killing the phone?
