Step by Step-how To remove & replace COBBA / CCONT very useful to beginner...

Hi everyone, I felt that since alot of people including me can use the experience from out hardware boys here, I mean there are such useful and talented users in this forum, why not use them ?? :P

I want everyone to post their input and output in this thread it will help alot of users who are just starting out hardware repairs and having problems:

this is the procedure im following to remove & replace compononent(COBBA)
and problems im facing:

I preheat pcb at around 200-250 with hot air gun
I use liquid flux(water element) with my brush I tip the COBBA with the flux and then heat for approx 7 sec's @ 350-380.
I pick up with tweezers and place aside

-PCB now has excess soldier which are in the shape of balls-

I use teh soldiering iron at 300 - 350 to tip the remaining balls off the pcb and then soak the new brush in acetone and clean the part where COBBA was, then I preview the pcb and notice that all tracks are intact (I can see all silver heads on teh pcb in a square shape)

time to replace...
I use soldiering paste, I apply a little onto a brush then I put some onto the pcb and a little on the COBBA itself, I align it to the markings on the board and use a little heat with gun, around 200 for 5 sec's.
Then i increase heat to around 400 and i watch the COBBA lift itself a little,
the heating process is done the COBBA is securely fitted to teh pcb.

This is what I have learnt in this forum and from peoples advises,
Can an experieced user touch up on this or correct the procedure, as i have only 50% success with this method...

Please help all beginner users in this forum by adding input and output to this thread, which will eventually become a sticky :>

waiting in anticipation
cheers

first of al, thanks goes out to CPU KILLER, for all the advises and helps to get me from a harcore software tech, to a little of a hardware boy ;>

Oh... not forgetting NEO :P

@ jamohaki,
From what i know when u replacing a new cobba it has the balls already onto the IC, theres is no need to reball a new cobba if replacing it.
If you not having access to liquid flux Im not sure what else you can use,
Please can one of the experienced users help out here....

1)If one wants to remove a COBBA from a dead board and fit in onto another board will this provess be successful or do steps have to be taken first?

2)what does reballing entail and when is it needed ??? and how is it done.
