Member: 11937 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Tip for repairing cut CPU lines This is just a small tip, some of you already know this but for those who don't continue reading!! If youve got a phone with cut CPU lines, ie keypad or LCD etc, doesnt work, you can sometimes use a jumper wire to bridge them to the CPU Via. If you look on the PCB you will see many little gold dots & indentations, they are VIA's & they route connections through the PCB. The trick is to find the right one & jumper it. Yesterday i got a 3310 with dots & rubbish coming up on the LCD. I measured all the LCD connector pads, and found that the the LCDCDX line was cut from the CPU. I got another 3310, and using a multimeter, found the connecting VIA. It was right behind the CPU. Measuring the same spots on the broken phone i found that there was no connection. So i made a jumper using enameled copper wire, and it worked fine. Just a small tip, hope it helps someone. |
