I need a serial hub, not usb but serail
 

i'm looking for a serial hub so that i can have all my cell phone data cables plugged in at once, preferably usb to serial, and it would give me at least 4 serial ports. if anyone knows where i can get one i'd appreciate it. email me

i made one up with bits i got from maplin (in uk and irl). just takes a few components and a bit of soldering. could make one for you if you are stuck would cost about €25.

you have any pics or anything?
so you plug it into a serial port and it gives you more serial ports??
works well with winxp and stuff?

You are a real talent !

Serial protocol like RS 232 not support any hub you can only have switch Its imposible to connect all your RS 232 cables at once in a hub and to work!

Also it is possible ro convert your USB port into COM (RS 232) but in that conversion you will lose some commands and some programs will not work!

So the best way is universal box connected to a single Com port!

buy 2-3 dual uarts, and an usb 2.0 interface chip like TUSB3410, and write firmware and drivers for it. so simple, eh? ;)
