Is this only possible with BDM cable? or can you set factory picture with roemmi?

You can change startup logo with meditx software.
Not need BDM, use asim interface. Working with all motorola phones

i'm not sure about roemmi,'cause i have got full emmi, but i think you can change the logo. You need to change
@seem16 in .fdf files for motoflex.
If i get enough free time i'll finish program that converts .bmp to .fdf file for motoflex. now this program have some bugs.

I though motoflex only connect to "full emmi" Cause i don't heave serial connection on my emmi box http://www.thoic.net/gsm/ubb/frown.gif and no flash e.t.c in roemmi
