E680i SUCCESSFULLY REVIVED / FLASHED - GSM-Forum

unit:
motorola EzX series
E680i

status/problem:
HANG-UP
stuck on welcome screen/boot screen

HISTORY:
YOU can put it to flashmode(bLue screen mode)
volume down + camera + power BUTTON
but it will not go into BPMODE (Red SCREEN mode)

so even if they can detect this PHONE,
mssbox, smartclips,scout,rsdlite,rockerdongle and other boxes cannot flash this unit
also no testpoint is available for this model that is proven and posted to be working

so i used MULTIFLASHFLEX

Did you try to flash this phone via Scout?

yes actually i did.. i even tried using my smart clip. mss box, rockerdongle and rsd lite...

the problem with other motorola flashing softwares or dongles/box is that..

WHEN I CLICK "FLASH" THE SOFTWARE WILL ONLY PREPARE THE CHUNKS OF THE "firmware" THEN IT WILL TRY TO BOOT THE PHONE IN "BP MODE"
IN THIS STAGE THE FLASHING WILL ALWAYS STOP

IT WILL SEND "ERROr" LIKE "UNSUPPORTED boot OR phone

YES I KNOW HOW TO PUT THIS PHONE INTO bootMODE....
HOLD POWER + CAMERA BUTTON + VOlUME DOWN

AND YES IT WILL SHOW YOU "AP MODE" OR BLUE SCREEN MODE....

BUT IT WILl NOT CONTINUE FLASHING......... AS I'VE SEARCHED THRU GOOGLE AND GSM HOSTING...
SMARTCLIP DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS UNIT...
MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE IT'S A BIT old MODEL

THAT'S WHY THEY HAVEN'T GIVEN THIS CERTAIN model SOME ATTENTION.......

Try to change USB Mode in phone to Data/Fax or modem mode (use phone's menu, probably in Settings -connections), then connect this phone to Scout. After installing drivers Scout will show phone's info and your phone will be prepared for flashing.

phone was in "hang-up" mode.. no way to access the menu
