Member: 66466 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 12 | any way to get A835 flash files? I keep finding almost everywhere flash files for Vxxx and other motorola phones, but I can't find anything for the A835 (3G dual mode WCDMA/GSM phone) ... the only files I got are some AUSTRIAN firmwares. I'm mostly looking for ITALIAN ones. The problem is all the firmwares are "branded" by H3G, so national parameters are hardcoded in the handset's flash. Thank you |

Member: 18966 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 59 | PST 6.7 FOR FLASHING ON XP THANK U desgrassia69 How to Guide by NDI Version 2 Note: RC4 has been found floating around the net, as far as i can see, there is no difference between RC3 and RC4, flash the phone and see for your self. Haptics STILL doesnt work, the only difference i can see is that there is some itallian in the firmware, which means it was prolly ripped from an itallian phone. Neither me or the people at www.3g.co.uk bare any responsibility if you screw over your phone, YOU are doing this operation not us. You are merely following instructions that are proven to work, so if something does go wrong (which is unlikely) we are not to blame ) Now that's out the way, read the following : p How to flash your Motorola A835 to enable: - mp3 ringtones - few extra features - few extra ringtones - few extra graphics - faster, easier txting READ THIS: PeteB has informed me that Formatting the MMC (where all your video's pictures etc are stored) is a good idea before flashing. So i would do what he says It's a good idea to connect the charger to the socket on the USB cable when flashing - the phone pulls quite a lot of power when it's flashing. You should warn people that have unlocked their phone that the 3 AT flex (the SEEM one, not the MMC one) will relock their phone to 3 Austria, and they will need to reenter the subsidy code (if the phone is unlocked, but you don't know the code, you can read it with the VictorGSM software). Despite what PeteB has said, my phone wasnt unlocked, and it still is locked to 3, but it works, i can receve calls etc. First, you'll need the following file, get it here (24mb) and the new patch here made buy NDI and PeteB Now, unrar these files to somewhere on your pc, say c:\motorola_flash\ (example), you'll need winrar to extract the files. Dont unzip the patch.zip file yet. First, install the Windows XP usb patch (called Widows XP USB.exe) Then, once that's completed, it may ask you to restart, if it does, click yes. Once you're back in windows, install the PST software (called PST_6.7_GENERAL.exe) It'll install some updates to your system, don't worry about these, they wont harm your pc. When the PST software setup is complete, you need to apply the patch. (PST_patch.exe), follow the screenshots below. Click the 'Next>' button untill it says 'Finnished'. If you get errors, make sure the location of the files is correct. It should need to patch the files in the directory where PST is installed. Now, Connect your a835 to your pc using the USB cable you got with the phone. Windows will say 'Found new hardware'. In the rar file i told you to download, there is a folder called p2k drivers, When looking for drivers for the phone, point windows to wherever you unrarred these to. (example: c:\motorola_flash\p2k drivers\) You may be asked to reboot your pc, if so, click yes. Now, you should be at the point where you can flash your phone. You may want to backup your text messages and contacts etc using mobile phone tools NOW, as you _MAY_ lose this data once you've flashed your handset. Now,make sure you have at least 2 bars of battery, if you don't, charge it for an hour. Turn off your phone, plug in your USB cable, hold down * and # on your keypad, and press the power button, your phone should display the following: Don't worry if its not EXACTICALY the same, for some reason, people have known their handset to say Serial RS-232 even if they're using the USB cable. Now, go into wherever PST installed to (usually C:\Program Files\motorola\PST\) and run the program called PST.exe, you should be greeted with somthing like the following screen (but with nothing in the file name feild): Click on the Motorola p2k in the device list, If you dont get the motorola p2k device, try unplugging the phone from the USB, and turning it off, then back on into flashing mode (* + # + power). Then, click the browse button, and select TALINT_U_72_32_07_02P_LP0027_JPAT_HB_BS_0_1_4_72_3 2_07_02P_SE6906AXXW8108_1FF.shx like in this screenshot: Click Flash and click next if you get a box telling you to make sure everyings correct etc.. Now, this is the hard part. You'll need to wait untill it displays a box, like the one below: This is where you STOP DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING RELATED TO THE PST PROGRAM. Unzip the patch.zip file into the folder where you unrarred the flash files. Notice you should have a lot more files in there. They are the files generated by PST to flash to different sections of the phone. Now, unzip the contents of patch.zip, should be 2 files 'patch.bat' and 'patch_motorola.exe'. Run 'patch.bat' (double clock it). You SHOULD get somthing like this (yes i know theres prolly some spelling error, and to be honest i dont give a **** : If you dont, make sure you are using a local directory (ie nothing over a network). Once its patched the file (thats what its done by the way) you can click yes on the box that came up That should then flash your phone! It should take about 5 minutes, maybe less. If any more boxes like the ones before come up, push yes, as before. Any other boxes, i dont know. Oh, there is one last box, it just asks you if you want to flash another phone. Click no. (even if you do want to flash another phone, its best to start from scratch anyway) You can now exit pst. Now turn on the phone, go into the directory where you installed PST. And run MultiFlashFlex.exe Click on the box that says 'Enable Flex', and turn on your phone. Do the same for the flex, click the browse button inside the flex box, and browse for 'MMCSE6906AXXW8100.hs' Its in the same directory as the flash we just used, make sure that your program has the same options selected as this, then click 'Start'. Once that's done, you should get the following screen: Do exotically the same again, turn your phone back on, and this time, instead of using 'MMCSE6906AXXW8100.hs' use 'SE6906AXXW8_108.hs', and click 'Start'. That'll write the flex onto the phone, and you'll be given the following screen: Unplug the data cable, turn on the phone, and reset factory settings, and master clear.(just to be sure) Turn it off, back on again, and you've successfully upgraded the software of your Motorola A835. The flash IS a german flash, but everything works as it should, if you need broswer settings, go here Have a look round the 3g forums if you cant figure out how to change some of the settongs etc... Greetz goes out to PeteB and Skully for finding the flash in the first place |
