Orange UK Motorola V3 Will Not Unlock via PDS Editor ANSWER

Hello everyone,

I was trying to unlock a V3 with the method of downloading the bootloader to 07.D0 and editing the PDS. This method has worked for me in the past with more than one V3.
However this time even though everything seemed to go OK, the phone was still locked.

It took me a long time searching to find this but I found the answer. I found the answer on the motox forum. This link is as follows:

I'm sure you all have either had similar success or frustrations with unlocking a >December 2005 Cingular locked Pink Razr, so I thought I post about my story.

I went through the usual steps for unlocking a Razr with bootloader 8.26, downgrading it, playing with the "final.exe/motounlocker 2005.exe" programs (which are the same), and playing PDS Editor. All with the same result in TTC, LOCKED. For hours upon hours, I was playing with my PDS file with a hex editor and with the PDS Editor with no success. I gave up completely, until I found this post by WeAreNotAlone and MotoCat that had the solution to my unsuspecting problem: Here's the Post

It appears that PDS Editor v0.8 had a bug that I didn't know about until I read that post. See? Reading helps! Another thing I now realized with this bug was that everytime I made a change to my PDS (01C1, etc), it rendered my phone unbootable.


Anyways, here's the steps I went through to get that phone unlocked:
Downgrade your bootloader to 7.D0
Make your FULL and PDS backups using FlashBackup
Open your PDS with PDS Editor
In the PDS Subsidy Unlocker tab, slide the tab to Max (should be only one notch)
In the PDS Seem Editor tab, do the following:
Seem 01C1, lower the history level by 1
Then cycle the attribute (change FFFA to FFF9, back to FFFA again... or vice versa)
Seem 01C3, cylce the attribute
Seem 01C4, cycle the attribute
Seem 01C5, cycle the attribute
Seem 01C6, cycle the attribute
Seem 01C7, cycle the attribute
Now save the PDS as a new file
Restore PDS with Flashbackup
Hopefully enjoy the success of unlocking your Razr like I did

I can confirm that I tried this on an Orange V3 and it solved the problem when the phone would not unlock as normal.
