PC not detecting my phone - GSM-Forum

Hello,
I am using mss 4 dongle, I have seted up the dongle and it is woking...but when I plugg in the usb cable for the phone in the pc..nothing happens?

How can the pc detect the phone?

Try changing the USB port on your computer and if that does not still work, uninstall the USB controller in Device Manager and let it redetect it automatically, now plug your phone backinto the USB and it should detect it.

Ok thanks, if the phone dont power on..would the pc detect the phone anyway?

The phone has to be on (atleast in Bootmode) for the PC to reconize it. A lot of times you dont see anything on the screen, but try the (*+#+power button) method while the USB is hooked up!

So maybe I have to use power supply, because phone dont power on with battery, but shoudn't the usb cable give power?

be sure your battery is full or much better to use power supply,press *,# power on simultaneously to enter boot mode to check if battery is ok and transfer mode ok, good luck!!

Install motorola drivers, if your battery is totally discharged the power supply could not charge it, use a fully charged battery, better if you put your phone in boot mode pressing *# power, the phone will be detected as flash mode, open the RSD Lite program to see if the phone is been detected
