If you're using VictorGSM soft, first look on the "flashing module" tab...down at the bottom, you have to hit the "search" button (i do believe you have to have a flash file loaded to search for the device). It should find a "Motorola P2K device" ...don't flash. Go to the "Other Functions" tab and browse for flex file...then flex. If you're using PST Multiflashflex, use the "show devices" button...it should show up as "Motorola P2K device" in the lower list. You should have the P2k drivers...usually found at :

MotClub

Hope this helps...

You could try to install the motorola USB file, which is also found at the link I posted. As far as the flash and flex, I have had the phone be kind of picky about connecting after the T720_G_05.05.15R flash...remember to remove the battery for 30 seconds, turn on the phone (you may have do hold down the power button) and wait 2 minutes (for the phone to rebuild the FDI) before flashing with the T720_G_05.05.21_full_flash.

@ crowbarr
The USB files and drivers are installed good because i can connect and a C350 normally without problem. I will try another time for waiting 2 minutes after flashing the first flash.

@ Hakima
serial cable, i haven't schematics, i use an USB cable as following :
PIN1 --- GND
PIN2 ---R22k --- GND
PIN3 --- +6V (not used)
PIN4 --- Tx
PIN5 --- Rx
PIN6 --- VBUS
PIN10 --- GND

I notice here that Bruce pinout is inverted in the USB connector so,

Pinout USB Connector that i use
--------------
o o o o
--------------
GND Tx Rx VBUS

Pinout USB Connector of Bruce
--------------
o o o o
--------------
VBUS Rx Tx VBUS

please can some one verify this USB Pinout and give shematics of serial cable?
thanks BR

Try reading thru this thread...I had similar problems with mine. This got me through. Make sure that the two pionts you are shorting on the USB cable are 13 & 14, else it won't work. If you hit points 14 & 15, the display will flicker blue on and off...that's kind of how I identify my points (they are so small). I'll be keeping my eye on the forums this evening...post back and let me know.

Same problem

I don't think u guys r understanding him correctly, as I am having the same problem he is. The problem is not getting it into flash mode by shorting 13 and 14, the problem is flexing it after flashing T720_G_05.05.15R and then T720_G_05.05.21_full_flash. I also waited the full 2 min for FDI rebuild after the first flash. What we are saying is that u can't flex the phone with it in flash mode. At least I can't and I've read elsewhere that other people can't either. When I restart after the last flash the phone won't stay on long enough for it to be recognized. If I hold down the power button for about 5 or 6 seconds it stays in blue screen but I can write display, wap, eeprom content, and logos, but when flexing the phone it stalls out after a few secs and then says Timeout while waiting for response. Flexing it is the last step in one of the repair threads and it's not working, and all other methods of flexing through other progs has had the same results. Any ideas? could there be something we r missing?

I know that the phone can be stubborn going to flex after the first two flashes. If you don't un-short 13 & 14, you'll get an "Error initializing TCI". Want you're saying, from what I gather, is that the software is having trouble actually communicating with the phone. Youll have to check in your device manager and make sure that all of the Motorola devices are listed and functioning. Mine would start to flex, and then drop out...watched it happen in device manager. If you can't get it recognized this way, you would be better off to get the serial cable. USB can be a bear.

problem solved

many thanks for all responses,
my problem is in USB driver, some keys in registry must be modified, i did modified these lignes in the registry but my case is that i have many similar lignes in the registry because i installed many drivers so perhaps there are conflit betweene them, i removed all keys under USB directory in the registry, rebooted, installed PST well, modified these lignes and all is OK.
I followed the post of "KaBLooMz", thanks for him
this is the lignes that i followed :

Step 3

click start/Run typed regedit

Step 4

open Hkey_Local_Machine\System\controlSet\Enum\USB right click USB
folder click permissions.. under everyone look for permissions for everyone
window tick allow for full control and Read.

Step 5

After that you need to look under USB tag (registry) for folders like
Vid_xxx&Pid_xxxx expand it look and click 5&28f8fc34&0&1 folder look for
Service REG_SZ usbccgp and modify to usbhub .

**Note the 5&28f8fc34&0&1 folder may be different depending
on if you have your phone installed using differet USB port and more but
never the less you want modify the tag for which ever ONE has the
control folder, we don't modify this folder until the next step .

The one with the control folder is the one you want to modify. This step
is critical and if you don't do it nothing else after this step will work.
You will know when you found the folder because it will have in it the
Motorola USB Modem or something to that effect but it will have
Motorola.**

(okay here is where I got really lost, could not find Service REG_SZ usbccgp, i even did Find command for that string, no luck. So I Skipped to the end and used Alternate Method)
Step 6

Inside the branch, that we were just working with, is the folder, with
the name "Control", in it is the parameter " ActiveService " - we change
its value to usbhub.

Step 7

Exit out of the registry

here is post : http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=130383

thanks again

looks like he's doing better than me. I can't even make a call. Still can't get it to accept a flex file of any kind but did get display, wap, bat, and eeprom content loaded without a prob. I'm using the radio shack cable so I don't know if that makes a diff. I'm gonna try to mod it later today to a full usb cable to see if it's the usb to serial chip in the middle of the cable that's not letting me hook up with flex. Weird though how I can do everything but flex this phone using this cable.
