C139 Tracfone with s/w ver 8.8.17...need help flashing
Hi, I've got a c139 tracfone that's brand new, and am having trouble finding a way to get it usable with Cingular. Now before you tell me to search, I'll let you know that I already have - and extensively at that. I've seen a lot of things that contradict each other, and a lot of other things that were in broken english that left me quite confused.
I'm looking for a free solution, so if I'm right that would exclude infinity box as a possibility for me. I've got a cable, it should work fine, but I'll verify it with the ohmmeter later. I downloaded DMtool, but it won't detect the phone after it powers on. I tried the code reader too, but got the same thing. They just sat there waiting for the phone to turn on. My big question is, is this because of the newer s/w version? I saw one post that said that infinity box is the only way to unlock the newer c139's, is this true? I really don't want to buy some box and start cutting traces and everything just for cheap reliable phone, which is all I want at the moment. I appreciate any insight you can give me. |
