PLEASE HELP me with my motorola w388!!

My motorola w388 can't send or receive any sms and sometimes it hangs when I try to turn it off, I can't seem to store photos either.
I've read online that this is a common issue of the w388 and that the only way to fix it is by flashing it.
I've found this webpage that sort of explains how to do it with something called Scout Dongle. But those steps aren't explicit enough for me since I've never done this before.
Can anyone help me through these steps? I've downloaded the Scout Drivers and Scout Flash and also the other .rar file, but I haven't installed anything.
