@ Hakima.

If the phone has been IMEI blocked, will it clear it if you erase the flash ROM?

I thought that when a phone has been IMEI blocked, it was done from the providers end. I thought the only way to clear the lock was to change the IMEI.

How do you clear the ROM? The only way I know of is from a document written by v1KK4N.

Flashing a G5300 p(16) making it a G5300i (p16)

Step by step guide by v1KK4N:
- Introduction:
Flashing the LG G5300 making it a G5300i with java and mms support.
You do not have to be a professional to upgrade your phone, just follow the steps listed.
Note!
This is a guide for the version with 16-channels polyphonic ringtones only.
Please notice that this guide describes how I did a successful upgrade of my G5300 in my own home using the original data cable and a program called floader 2.1
Please keep in mind that I don’t take any responsibility if your phone becomes unusable! But if you follow the guide, problems will not be likely to appear.

The version g5300i has its drawbacks! You can e.g. not turn off the button-sounds without muting the sms-signal. And every uploaded picture will get a “huge” white border when set as background!!!

Feel free to spread this guide, just keep my name in it.
- Preparations:
Download essential files! For my phone (the G5300 p16) I downloaded:
- floader 2.1 (the program that flashes the phone)
- G5300iP16 NEU V205-xxx-xx Oct 21 2003_1.bif (flash file part 1)
- G5300iP16 NEU V205-xxx-xx Oct 21 2003_2.bif (flash file part 2)

Connect the phone to the computer with the datacable.
Turn off the phone.
Download location for floader 2.1 =
http://hem.passagen.se/v1kk4n/floader21.zip
Download location for flash files = http://hem.passagen.se/v1kk4n/G5300i...oct21_2003.rar

Step 1.

Launch ADI.exe (floader 2.1). Set settings as following:
Click the “read” and after that the “start”-button.
It will then ask you to power on/reset the target. Push down and hold the power button (on the phone). The phone will not light up and start. That is the way it’s supposed to be.

It will then say “reading completed”.

Step 2.

Remove the battery form the phone! Put the battery back.
Click “Read cal. data”, and after that, click “start”. Click and hold the powerbutton down (on the phone) .
Maybe you now get an error-message like I. But don’t bother that.

Step 3
Remove the battery again and put it back.
Click “erase”. Set “model >>> 5300”. Please double-check that “erasing info 2” is checked and click start. Push and hold the powerbutton during the erasing process.

Step 4
Remove the battery again and put it back.
Click “Write” and import the flash-files.

Choose “file format: *.bif” And pick the first of the flash-files, click “open”.

Check the “Code_flash2”-box. And click the “…”-button.

Do the same thing as with the first, but choose the one with the number “2”

Click the “start”-button. Push and hold the phones powerbutton down during the whole flash.
The flashing process will take about 10-15 minutes, so be sure that you have a “good thumb”.
The flashing process will not be ruined if you accidentally slip off the button, but be sure not to do it too often. (I accidentally slipped 3 times, and it still was a success)
When floader says that the flashing is complete, remove battery, and start up the phone!

DONE!!!

Possible things that might have got wrong:

Symptoms: What’s wrong?

No ringtones You’ve got the p40 g5300.
Download a new set of flash files.

The phone is dead Most likely you didn’t erase the old flash before
Installing the new one. Erase the one you’ve got, and reflash.

Thanks to the GSM-forum for learning me how to do this!
