GSMKEY – LG 8120 v1.02 Unlocking Problem - GSM-Forum

I recently had this handset to unlock. I connected it using the 8110 cable (which I presume is compatible) and followed the instructions set by GSMKEY. All was fine and the software stated it had connected to the phone and the USIM codes were all set to 12345.

So I disconnected the phone and powered it on with a 3 sim card in, entered the code to access the USIM lock menu…. And here is where the problem starts… when I selected the USIM lock it just said “USIM not LOCKED” (or words to that effect), but when I try any other networks sim in the phone I get “USIM LOCKED”

Anyone got any idea what I have done wrong?

* I unlocked as 8120 NEW as stated in the GSMKEY manual

Maybe you've used direct unlock and not the function to read nck code.

You need to relock phone and after this you can access to unlock menu via 2945#*88110# code.

Thanks for your responce Bypx - Would you advise I unlock all LG handsets by reading codes? I have previously done an 8110 direct which worked ok...

I have to say i am impressed with GSMKEY .. but thier documentation really does need improving...

Actually .. I have just loaded GSMKEY and it doesnt give me the option to read codes.... Back to square 1

Oki, try to do "Relock" and after try again with unlock ( always selecting 8120-8130 )

Please, open a new topic, don't reply here.

Anyway, you need to downgrade phones with com+usb flash cable.
