you need a valid (or at best an inactive USIM) USIM from 3 (Three), the LG U400 (slider) was only sold by Three (Hutchison), there is the GSM version called the KE600 (K = K series G = EGPRS) which is a GSM only handset and thus not sold by Hutchison (Three Mobile)

Now its just my guess, but since you have the U400, the NCK Menu code will probablly not be like the LG U310 which is 815118#*#

That said, there is one more option that could work:

Try

277634#*# which is the universal LG Mobile test menu code, once in there enter option 6 and you will see option for virtual SIM, press ok, the handset will reset and then you put in your non 3 USIM into the handset and restart.

Hopefully Hutch have no diasbled the universal code.

There is no solution, you can not enter the code on a U400. The only ones I have unlocked are using Tornado sim, which seems to be working very well.
Don't waste your money on a code ( which I did ) you cannot enter it.

how did you get the nck code from three?


anyway, the only thing that could work is to contact LG HQ at Eastern Creek (Sydney) and get them to tell you what the key sequence is to enter the NCK menu.

u400 enter unlock code procedure:
1. Insert the network SIM in the handset which has given u the lg U400.
2. Enter 2945#*88110#.
3. The phone will then prompt 'Unlock sim'. Press OK.
4. The phone will then prompt 'Network Unlock'. Press OK.
5. The phone will then prompt- 'Input Network Control Key'. Enter the 8 digit unlocking code. Press OK.
If the unlocking code comes with only 7 digits, add a 0 in front of the 7 digit code. If the unlocking code comes with only 6 digits, add 00 in front of the 6 digit code.
6. It should give you the message Success.
7. Come back to the main screen and Enter 2945#*88110#.
8. The phone will then prompt unlock sim. Press OK.
9. The phone will then prompt Network Unlock/ Lock but if you scroll down you will see a message Enter SP Lock. Enter SP Code.
10. Then press OK.

This is a toturial on how to Enter Unlock Codes on LG U400 Shine (2 codes needed):
1:Insert the network SIM in the handset which works with the phone (from the locked carrier). LG-Shine info
2:Enter 2945#*88110#.
3:The LG U400 will then prompt ‘Unlock sim’. Press OK.
4:The LG U400 will then prompt ‘Network Unlock’. Press OK.
5:The LG U400 will then prompt- ‘Input Network Control Key’. Enter the 8 digit unlocking code. Press OK. If the unlocking code comes with only 7 digits, add a 0 in front of the 7 digit code. If the unlocking code comes with only 6 digits, add 00 in front of the 6 digit code. If you received a 16 digit code, enter it. The phone will have space for it.
6:It should give you the message: Success.

THIS SEQUENCE CODE IS ONLY WITH THE OPERATOR.

ITS FACT. I HAVE ALL THE SWEDEN U300 / U880 / U890 CODES.
EACH SINGLE ONE HAS UNIQUE SEQUENCE CODE.

so how do we get this sequence code? impossible for now!
