LG U81xx cable help

I have the LG U81xx cable from a LG 5 in one cable set. It does not unlock any phone, so I think it may be defective. either with Redbox or free furious software.

I have opened the cable and I will describe what I see ( I know the pinout from redbox support..just want a practical explanation as to what may be wrong). I see four rows of 6 Pins with four wires ( Red , Green, White and Blue) connected.

I am assuming a pin layout as outlined below

12 11 10 9 8 7
18 17 16 15 14 13
24 23 22 21 20 19

the blue wire is connected to pin 2 and 21 , the gree wire is also connected to pin 21.

The red wire seems to be connected to pin 8 , and the white wire to pin 14.

this seems all wrong from the pinout provided. If anyone knows the correct colut wire to which pin, and can tell me if a am reading the pins in the correct order it will be appreciated.

Please do not just post the correct pinout , I need a practical answer from someone who has opened the cable and knows what I am speaking about.


there is a exposed (raw wire) nipped at the bud not connected to anything ( wonder where the ground is)
