U880 Media Unavailable - GSM-Forum

I have read all the steps and basically followed every thing mentioned in different threads to remove Media unavailable **** from U880.

1. I flashed U880 with different u880 UK Media Files but no luck
2. Checked Media with Hex editor, country selected is OK.
3. Flashed phone with English and spanish Flasher but still same.
4. Checked EFS reset
5. Cable seems ok.

Is there anything I am missing , please guide me as this phone is driving me nuts.

you forget to write in phone which version ?and which files u flashed?

I used the following files:

U880-CODE-MUSEDR-V10b-Feb-08-2006-H3G-IT
U880-MEDIA-V10b_UK Tried this Media first time
U880-MEDIA-V10b_wm-FEB-08-2006-H3G-UK Tried this second time
U880-MODULE-V10b_final_unlock_kller_4_all_unlock

As the phone is from UK 3 Network so I assume this phone is from UK.

Please let me know what shall I do?

1st confirm from which country customer take this phone then written here we will help u and u able to do this

Man u r Not Sure about its Firmware right.
because u did not Check its f/w b4 Flashing by codes 142358#*# right
Now u have One Choice left.

Just Use Hex Editor and Make all available Countries Media exapt UK. coz u have already tried with UK.
remaining available Countries Codes are here.
1= IT,
2= HK,
3= SW(sweden),
4= DU(Australia),
5= AU(Austria),
6= DE(denmark)
Just make these 6 Media Files using Hex Editor and try One by One.
No logic to not Work.
100% sure one of em will work for u like a Charm.
Just try it.

You are right I did not check the firmware before flashing but this phone was locked with UK 3 Network for sure as the sim card was in there but you are right there is no harm trying other Media for other countries.

I will create 6 media for different countries and I will post you the results shortly.

Right I tried Flashing U880 with all six Flash Media files.

1. UK Media File - No media available
2. IT Media File - 3 Logo stays at screen after flash
3. DE Media File - 3 Logo stays at screen after flash
4. AU Media File - 3 Logo stays at screen after flash
5. HK Media File - 3 Logo stays at screen after flash
6. SW Media File - 3 Logo stays at screen after flash

Do anybody suggest me whats wrong now? This is driving me crazy man

Do we have only one Media file for UK?

I think u messed up with Media Files.
Only One Media SHould Worked Properly All Other Should give the same Message "Unavailable Media"
R U Sure u Edited Media Properly.
Yes We have Only One Media File for each Country Listed.
No More Choice.
Look Bro Edit ur Media File According to this Tutorial .
and Do inform.

Had a similar problem with a phone, tried flashing different media files, hex-editing and so on. Nothing worked.
The way I solved it was by flashing the original Italy flashfiles (unpatched) then flashing the patched ones and the phone was ok and unlocked. Try it.
