My phone doesn't show up in usbmap. However, when I downloaded the package, I got USBMap V_02 instead of USBMap V_01. Windows XP said my device may not work properly until I installed the Infinion driver via the Windows driver installer. Then it said my hardware was installed and ready to use. The Flash Loaders don't show up in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers like the .pdf manual says they should | |

| [QUOTE=mdonah;8528781]I did everything that you said in this post only to end up totally frustrated. My phone doesn't show up in usbmap. However, when I downloaded the package, I got USBMap V_02 instead of USBMap V_01. Windows XP said my device may not work properly until I installed the Infinion driver via the Windows driver installer. Then it said my hardware was installed and ready to use. I used USBMap V_07 when XP searched for a driver, I went to the \gsmulti\usbdrivers folder and selected the mtk folder as the driver location. then follow the gsmulti directions as shown the in first post. | Ok I am stuck. I can't get the phone to respond to get me into the unlock menu. I flashed the phone from the LG900 to the GW300. But when I get to these steps I am stuck "ok now you can use lgtool to get the unlock code (if u dont have lgtool send me an email with your imei and i give you the unlock code free) 1.power phone ON without SIM 2.type 2945#*71001# to enter unlock menu 3. enter unlock code or codes" So how do I use LGTool? Do I need special hardware? I get some kind of card reader error. When I remove the SIM and do step 2 above, nothing happens. What do I press after I enter the code to get to the unlock menu? If I press enter or the call button I get an error about emergency calls only. |

| OK, I have finally done it! Here are some missing tidbits that may help those still having issues. If the Usbmaping is not working try installing the LG USB Modem Drivers and others, in the MTK folder right click on the .ini file and choose install, reboot after all drivers are installed. Next hook your phone up while it is on to let the computer recognize it and load the drivers for it, you will be asked on the phone to choose data service or mass storage, I went both ways just to be sure. If your computer is not recognizing your phone try another USB port, preferably on another bus, for example if you used a front USB port try one in the back, the default in XP once a device is seen is to never ask again unless you unchecked that box before moving on, so if you have already done that and couldn't find any drivers at the time then that's probably going to solve your problem. I used the MTK driver option. If you are stalling at waiting for phone to connect then unplug the cable at the phone end and plug it back in, it will start the flash then. You can get the unlock code cheap off many sellers on the world's most popular online action site, just use the "ALL USA NETWORKS" or "ANY" option when asked who it is locked to, or tell them your not sure. For the model use GW300. You can get it from boyal_soondh on the world's most popular online action site, that's where I got mine and he now knows this can be done. ![]() DO NOT TELL ANY OTHER UNLOCKING SERVICES IT IS A NET10/TRACPHONE OR THAT YOU FLASHED IT TO A GW300!!!! Most if not all will instantly tell you it can't be done and your conversation is over. CellUnlocker will for sure as they told me that they couldn't do it. I have also had others tell me they could not and "All I know is that the code will not work on a flashed phone." As you probably already know and it's probably the main reason your reading this thread Net10/Tracphone's service stinks and you will not get the code from them, so don't even bother. They seem to think it's OK to bring your unlocked phone to their network but not OK to unlock theirs. Lame! After you have your unlock code put your new sim in the phone and turn it on, you can then enter the unlock menu using 2945#*71001# you will get unlock usim?, when you select yes you will get three choices network lock, service provider lock and network subset lock, enter the unlock code in network lock, it will then ask you to verify it by entering it again. Thanks to everyone who posted. Hope this additional information helps someone. |

| Eureka! I am totally new to unlocking cell phones. I admit I was baffled & confused about exactly step by step what I have to do. My computer not mapping my cell phone didn't help with my understanding or my confidence. Persistence seems to have paid off! After studying various posts here for almost 2 days, I suddenly put it all together! My only lingering question I have is when I get my unlock code, should I tell them I have an LG900GHL or an LG GW300 phone along with my IMEI number? I remember someone else asking the same question in another post, but I don't remember it being answered. I assume that I request a code for the original model the phone was locked with. For me, I need to request an unlock code for an LG900GHL. I hope that is correct. Let me know either way please! I wanted to thank you so much for your hard work & posting it for people like me to figure out. At first, I was kind of upset that the explanation was not more elementary. I understand now more why it isn't. Thanks again! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, & a Happy New Year! |
