Viewty flash? Keep some files or use only those in firmware folder? - GSM-Forum

Hi - I've flashed 3 Viewties now and all with no success - ending up suffering annoying branding just to have a working phone.

All have been done with EFS media Builder and all have had the same problem - ERROR 36 (I think) - seeming that there are some files in the Media folder that won't allow themselves to be replaced. One of the fonts (I forget which) plus several of the PAF files. So0 far what I have done is to rename these and then carry on replacing everything with the open firmware.

The thing I've noticed is that, comparing the contents of the flash files with the original ones on the phone, there are several extra folders and files on the phone.

Should I keep these as they are and simply add the firmware to them? Or should I delete these altogether and end up with only the files in the firmware flash folder?

And if anyone can offer advice about how to handle the original phones files that don't want me to overwrite them I'd be happy! (One of them is info.paf, another is main_charging1.paf)
