The ".jar" file contains all the game/app data - programming, graphics, etc - and the ".jad" file is almost like a shortcut file - it says how big the ".jar" file is, who made the ".jar" file, what icon to show for the application/game. You need both of them to upload to the phone. 2. You can use Oxygen Phone Manager (http://www.oxygensoftware.com/) to upload Java games and applications, but it's not free. It asks you for the ".jad" file, and automatically loads the ".jar" file onto your phone, and adds it in the "Applications" or "Games" menu. There's also a program called "GameLoader" but I'm not sure if it's free, where to get it, or how well it works. 3. Java games and applications come in very different ways. Some are written that they run fullscreen, on most/all Java enabled phones, though most java games/apps for Nokia will run on 3510i, 6610, 7210, 7650, N-Gage, etc - the main problem is that games for the Nokia 3510i usually on take up a very small part of the other phone's screens - because they're "bigger". 7210 games look small on a 7650 or N-Gage, but a 7210 (or 7650 or N-Gage) game "goes out" of a 3510i's screen - so you can't see everything. In other words, you generally get different versions of the same app/game for different phone makes and models. digitalfire http://www.digitalfire.co.za http://www.myngage.co.za |
