This sounds more like a PCB failure than a eeprom problem.
You need to take it to someone skilled with the correct tools for this kind of work.

Hi, did you solve the problem? I have the same and I think it's a PCB thing. If I unscrew the two screws (they connect two ground points) that holds the front panel to the unit, the LCD has no backlight but the radio works good. As soon as I reconnect them, the keys stop working and I got no sound from the speakers other than a crack every 0.5s.
Any tips? Mustekweb have you any idea?

I will post the solution if we can work it out as it seems to be very common on this particular unit.

Thank you

Red face

It does very strange things. I'm not very sure it's the front panel. It's kinda weird, with the two bolts a bit loose, if I wiggle the front the behaviour of the LCD changes. If the LCD is backlighted the keys don't work. But if the LCD is dark, then the keys work.
