clarion pu2471a (Q)

Hi, need help with above radio please. Bought to replace my old clarion radio casette. I know I need this radio vin coded to match my van, the main dealer is way to expensive and a local mobile decoding company says they will have to remove the chip to program it, (dont know if this is true?) still too expensive any way. Is there any way to do this my self and if so what kit do I need ? any help would be apreciated.
Regards.
Brian.

Remember is cheap for one that has decoding knowledge or handle decoding as expert than you to spoil it and pay more.

the best for you is to take it to a local decoder or if you are competent than read the eprom which is in the tuner and upload the dump here with your vin number if you cant do this best advise is like Freewillover says as it will cost you more if you damage it.

eeprom in tuner

Hi to my new found friends, I have now located the tuner in this Clarion radio and my next question is how on earth do i open it to gain access to the eeprom? I think it requires a pair of tin snips as there aint no screws! I know it's probably a mind numbing question to you professionals but unless I ask, I aint never going to get any where.
Thanks in advance
Brian

The eeprom is inside the tuner case as described in this forum, all I want to know is how to access it.

I know all over the world economy is runing on flat tyre but consider this one that has expirence can help you as expert in decoding lease charge but if you want to do it as novice you pay as big man. Advantage that disadvantage level pass is like penny wise pound foolish. Don't take because of a car radio become a decoder if you have no interest in decoding. Money is hard but to spend extra money when you know there are other things to invest money to earn higher living is out there. Time it will take you to demage this car radio you can use it make more money than what to pay when you need replacement after have spoil this you have. Still when you get another still you need to under go this process so is double work for you. Life smile better when you can deny a thing to have great valued things. Am not discouraging you but regret is more painful to mistake but mistake stagger a man than wisdom.
Peace
