Ford 6000 CD no sound after battery replacement

Hello,

I have a strange problem. The Ford 6000 CD in my friend 2004 Mondeo suddenly stopped producing sound after he replaced the car battery.

Now, the whole unit seems to work in all other ways - the radio, CD and so on, just no sound.

Can someone help me with this?
