Nissan Murano Navigation - GSM-Forum

Hi guys,

I have a Murano that has been imported from UK to South Africa.
It came with the UK navi maps DVD, however when we insert a local DVD it displays DVD Disk Error. The local disk we removed from a local car that is 100%working, that makes me think that there is a problem with a different zone or coding??

I dont have the system details now, but will get them if needed. The disk is: NAVIGATION SYSTEM MAP DATA DVD , X6, IGN France

Any ideas how to make it work??

BROWSE Nissan site buy the navigation disc is hard to use different disc or check ebay if their have original disc.

like i said. we are trying an original disk from another identical car and system. The only difference is that the disk works in the local car but it gives error in the UK import one.

Uk and S Africa have different navigation not same map maker do this work it can not.
Find original disc or can deform things you then have navi fault.
I have try Nissan many with wrong disc no success.
I use Jap for Us just big failure.
Tell me this navi by

UK and SA use the same Region code 2 but the Region code may be Region 5 (Africa) on your local car...
Need the 'Region 0' solution to be sure.. (need to read more on your model)

You are right but most Nissan i see in my location Navi disc selects.
So we do go for original from car dealers.

This is probably the correct answer: (i got from another forum)
"The disc you tried to use is a disc for the X 7.0 platform and it can never function in a X 6.0 navigation
AFAIK there never was a X 6.0 DVD published for South Africa so the unit is rendered completely useless over there."

So now the question is, what part of the system should be replaced in order to convert to X7.0 platform.
Has anyone come across a Nissan navi system layout/diagram?

I'll only have the car back here in two weeks, but would like to find some sort of solution by then.

Yes, some do, others use region 0 so no region is required..
