You need hex editor and look at the bottom line of the dump you can't go wrong I hope you know that 93c46 has rotated pins.

Hi m1djf, Yeah, tried the rotated pins, looking at other peoples dumps the vin is in the 2nd last and last line but there doesnt seem to be anything like that on my dump? Would I still get a dump file if I still have the pins connected up wrong? Or do you think its the hex editor program I need to change for a different one? Cheers, David

had a thought, starting from the last digit on the last row and working backwards would i just change whatever is there for the vin number or would the existing data of a proper dump look like a vin number anyway? the right hand column of my dump when viewed in hex editor seems to be just funny symbols and not like others where it resembles the vin number. trying to understand and figure it out :-(

still stuck on this one, managed to get a dump that looked good, change the vin, resoldered the chip to the radio and still beeping, any ideas any body? i fear this is the last time the chip will be coming off the board without damaging something, want to make sure its 100% before i resolder it again. old vin dump = wed02.rar changed vin = verify.rar cheers David

verify dump looks good! check if eeprom is working good -in the programmer- then solder and verify all pins, that's all. only trouble you must check is swap byte, but if you use only one programmer no trouble i think...

Hi Guys, Thanks for helping, will try and check if eeprom working good in the programmer, i read another dump file from it today and it still comes up the same as verify.rar. is there another way i can check everything works other than by just reading dump? the only difference i can see is the vin section on mine starts 4vf7... others i have seen start 4.vf.... would that make any difference? it is read at 16bits, should i try 8bit? once i got the dump with a vin i thought i was sorted so didnt try any more ways. thanks

VIN number is ok for Citroen. Your dump as 16 bits is ok. Only a question... are you trying this work on your bench or in your car? Because in your bench... forget it!
