L4949 doesn't eeprom. The L4949 is a monolithic integrated 5.0 V voltage regulator with a very low dropout and additional functions such as reset and an
uncommitted voltage sense comparator.

I can't see the part numbers on the picture, so you have to post the part numbers. But for me is none of the ICs on the picture an eeprom. An eeprom is (almost always) much smaller and (almost always) have 8 pins, such as 24C04. The eeproms' part number like 24C04 (usually) begins with 24, so it can be identified fast and easy.

On the picture you posted, I don't see some part, which can be an eeprom. Sometimes such parts, because of minimum place requirements, can be soldered on the backside of the motherboard. So I saw on your picture, that you released just the mounting over the motherboard, but didn't released the motherboard it self. You should look at backside.

If there is also no parts like that, there is a only one place where the eeprom can be, it is in the MCU. There are different MCUs, one must have an eeprom to save or read some settings to or from it and some have an eeprom built in. So sometimes it is difficult to identify, which unit can be the right, if it is not a popular MCU from Atmel or Microchip or Motorola.

Please correct me if I am wrong!

Some newbie facts:

1) What happens if I exceed number of times allowed for code to be entered?

Ans: You need to flash MCU/EEPROM which is virgin. This can be downloaded from http://dump.elektroda.net/main.php

2) How can i flash 40 pins MCU which is soldered in CAR Radio?

Ans: You will need IDE cable and a very felt-tip soldering iron. Peel the IDE cable wires, add solder in peeled wires and solder to MCU. Since IDE cable consist of fine lead, this will not be difficult to deal with Surface Mounted Devices (SMDs)

Regards,
Yasir
