I plan to read / write S22S12I10 EEPROM from Volvo (Alpine) CR-824 (CR-814)
This is an 18pin DIP that is 256 x 4 bit (1k) and is Schmitt input for STORE and RECALL

Can someone confirm programmer and software to use? I can not find S22S12 in any programmers device list.

Hi all,

I want to dump the eeprom of my Smart-Grundig radio. Seems to be a 24c08 (L08).
I'd buy a cheap chinese CH341A-programmer to read the chip, but but I'm afraid to solder out the IC.
Is it possible tread out the memory in-circuit without desoldering?
I found a guy who even write in-circuit with CH341A www,it-feed,de/?p=827
(sorry no link, I am not allowed to post, plz. replace ',' with '.')
using a SOP8 Test Clip.

Can this work on my radio or will I destroy eeprom or even the whole Radio?

Simply unsolder the chip, it's safer and better

There's nobody who has experiences with reading incircuit?

A simple soldering iron will remove the chip.. if you can't do that then take it to your local decoder to decode

thanks for replying again, but the point of my question
wasn't whether it is easy or not to sold out a 8 pin SMD-device.
With my abilities and my experience, it is not safer.

There is a pretty probability that the component
will become heat-dead or the motherboard will be damaged.
In my area, there's not a 'local decoder'-service at every corner.
If I have to send the device to a decoder-service, I can buy a new,
better one and even cheaper.

I was interested in someone had experience with the dumping
without desolder. I've got now the possibility of desoldering.

So I'm going to try it anyway to read incircuit.
If someone is interested in the result, I can post again whether success
or s*cks.

Soldering in-circuit is the same heat as removing, removing the chip is the simplest possible way to read your chip.
If you read in-circuit there maybe feedback circuitry which may give false reading, and if you have to write back you have the possibility of corruption.

It is in blaupunkt vw radio.

I have pickit3 to usb, JDM programmer to DB9, i2c programmer to parallel port, onboard pliers... Is it possible read it whit any of these.

Please help.

95xxx is the same as 25xxx .. consult your seller as to compatibility
