Member: 918112 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Smd 24c01 I own a Kenwood KRC-777R. Lost the MASK Key since someone had mistaken it for a keychain I've managed to desolder the 24C01, make a dump of the eeprom but am unable to write it back to the 24C01 with the Pony prog (as it was stated in this forum somewhere that this is indeed unsupported, yes I've done my research a bit ). Is there any prog that will allow me to re-write to the 24C01 or should i just get a 24C02 and write the dump back to that one and solder the 24C02 back on the board? Thx alot ! |

Member: 918112 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hmm, Seems I was able to flash the eeprom, reprogram it with the original bin dump. Could be that something went wrong in the cracking procedure of this dump? I know this is slightly different since this radio uses a mask key and not a numeric code. Could it be that the dump is encrypted? Anyone with more knowledge of how this may work? I've upped a copy of the .bin dump here: http://lan.hamels.be/KRC777R.rar (wasn't able to attach it) Greets |

Your orig dump size is 256kb that is 24c02 and if you make any changes in it and write back it fails !!!! you must save your dump with in 128kb to fit 24c01 edit it to change or what ever do with mask key ,and then try to program with pony ! I'm shore you will get it correct and right after this Please report here WBR Zlix | |

Member: 918112 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hmm, I think I managed to create a file bin. Could someone verify ? Good bin: http://lan.hamels.be/Test_read_2.rar PS: I've started this little project 7 days ago, without any knowledge of car stereo's, just some extended IT knowledge and a family member who knows his electronics :-) I've had some very good info from reading this forum. Thanks everybody for that ! Last edited by zlix; 12-06-2008 at 18:42. Reason: This is not a good solution if you are really decoder ,should be done with known code |
