VDO CDR500 (Staying ON Fault)

Does anyone know, or have heard of a VDO CDR500 excepting a code then 5 mins later switching off and not coming back on again?
I have 2 of these with the same fault.

Also I have 3 CAR400's once I read the 24c16 the radio stops working
in the car but seems to work on the bench.. (No Screen)

Thanks

There are 3 types of displays for thiese units

A: If your CDR500 is not 24C16 type check MCU reading or your have change dump Offenbach is right. As well bad programmer can add data to your eeprom contains.

B: Also I have 3 CAR400's once I read the 24c16 the radio stops working
in the car but seems to work on the bench.. (No Screen)
Ans: If you read 24c16 unit never work, check if your programmer is faulty it may be adding something to your orignal dump. Still if eeprom leg break inside it can happen. It may not show it break but it will not function.

note: Pm your Car300 dump let me see.

Thanks.. seems this is probably what's wrong..
It powers on for 5 mins only then switches off..
eeprom seems ok, and the data varified by two different programmers and is ok..
I've never had this problem before just in the last lot of radios..

Dumps from other CDR500's don't work.. tried it and also was told it wouldn't work too..
Need a dump fix, it's a Siemens labled VDO not a VDO Labled VDO, if you see what I mean..
There is a string that needs to be altred to make it work..

do you still have original dump for these?
we can decode those if you backed them up before the overwrite.

but then i always go straight in and overwrite these sets because i have never had issues with these so i would get caught out too...

maybe MCU missing voltage ?

like "courtesy feature", powering on without ACC, it turn ON for several minute, then OFF -to preserve battery-.

if ACC exists, radio will stay ON.

i think that you must check ACC detect circuitry.

Thanks..
This is the original dump, but because I reset the counter it now has a max 10 minute run time.. the radio has altered the dump after re-inserting the eeprom and now only runs for 10 mins..
I'm told you need to change other parts of the dump (As well as 0A) to make it work.. I'm told most will work but some will not..
