GX10i handset manager connection problem - GSM-Forum

Hello all,
Can anyone help with this please?
I have installed the Sharp handset manager software that came with my GX10i on my computer. However, when I try to use it, it says it is trying to connect to the phone but never makes the connection. When I installed the software, it seemed to install ok and detected Com port 1 for the cable connection. I have tried using both serial and USB cables with no success. I am able to import photo's from other programs into handset manager, so think the problem must be with the phone's software.
My computer runs Win98SE.
Any ideas will be greatfully received.

i have exactly the same problem, i think the problem lies with the drivers for the cable rather than the program though. does anybody know where to download the drivers from? i have tried the ones off www.mobileaction.com and http://tech.prolific.com.tw/ but they dont work. when the cable is plugged in it is detected as a usb and a port separately. it is detected as "usb data cable" and "USB Data Cable" any suggestions?

I too am having the same problem of not being able to connect to the handset. If anyone knows a way around this problem I would be very grateful.
