| Serial data cable but no port Hi, I have a Samsung A800 which requires a serial data cable (I'm 99.9% sure a T100 will work) to transfer data (I don't need to unlock it) & I have a laptop without a serial port. So a few questions; Is the serial connector end of a data cable male or female? Are all serial cables the same or are there different types eg RS232 or DB9 There are serial/usb converter cables on the market (Maplins, Amazon etc). Would one of these work with an A800 phone & a T100 data cable or are there different types of converter cables? If so, why not make the cable USB instead of serial? Many thanks, Andy |
