Upgrading T100 to T108 - Page 2 - GSM-Forum

Hi skedone

Yes I did Succesfully flash my T100 To T108 and I am Delighted With The Outcome (May I thank everyone who helped above inc gsmfun and acyl2000).

The Procedure can be a bit baffling at first until you suss out whats what but first you have to get the T108 flash file "T18bjvc8" which is over 3 meg in size and consists of two flash parts (T18bjvc8.ogm & T18bjvc8. axf if you search this forum you will find this file) then I suggest you type *#9999# into your phone this will tell you what flash you need to go back if you dont like the T108.

You will also need a flash util called "Wintdn.exe" this is the samsung flasher made by samsung to flash the t100/t108 after you start this soft you uncheck all boxes down the right hand side (There should be 3) then you tell the soft where your two parts flash files are on your H/D once you have done this get your cable that came with your t100 out of the box and hook it up to phone with phone switched off.

the phone screen will now light up white only this is in flash mode, then click start, dont worry it will take 5-10 mins to flash both files and the soft will tell you it finished flashing, pull the lead out and phone will switch off.

now turn the phone on normal way but dont panic as it will not start up straight away and may take 30-50 seconds before it starts.

when it starts it will be in chineese and yo will have to find your way to menu for english.

the differances are many from swicthing it on you will get hong kong as background you will also have some chineese tones in fact all the phone is differant but nice and you will be able to set your phone as answering machine instead of switching it off also get message reports ect ect

my advice is give it a go mate and if you dont like it then flash it back there are no checksums to worry about that i have found and ive flashed my T mobile t100 to Orange, btcellnet, t108, back to T-mobile latest version and back to T108 with no problems.

hope this helps someone as I couldnt find any info anywhere other than here on the forum but if your phone goes tits up dont blame me as I say here Ive had no problems at all.

thanks for the info that anwsers all my question .
but... what other features does it give u apart from them listed above as it is a friends phone not mine i only use nokias and he loves his samsung but the fact that its in chinese and that it has built in anwser machine is not that appealing to him for one his english through and through and 2 his on contract and the voice mail is free

also did you have to enter the old epp data reset code the *#2374* or what ever it is for the wap to work again

also if u can can u provide a link to files in question (i have a copy in a rar file called t100 to t108 but am a bit werry

you really should email me as the mods can get a bit shirty about using the board for chit chat but I suppose you are only asking what most peeps want to know anyway.

The whole phone changes, all the graphics are differant and in differant colours, dont worry about the english I am from the UK and its got full all english support built in, and yes you will have to reset EEP wap with *2767*927# , there are only minor differances in the extras like I said above but for contract peeps I dont see why you should upgrade other than to be differant from the rest but the answer phone is real cool regardless of contract as you have no messing retrieving mail at all as the phone displays the list and its instant without having to phone anyone, and the animated graphics are real cool.

The phone will start in full chinese but this is simple to change to full english as all you do is goto screen with animated gear cogs select the top menu which is phone settings and then count down 3 rows and select english(Once you have done the first option on the menu you will be able to understand whats going on and there are two more settings that will need to be set to english on the same menu).

The file that you have t100 t108 is the same file I used and its ok, I cannot post the link where I got it as It belongs to acyl2000 if he wants people to download from his site then we must ask his permission. (I thought I saw a link to this file on here but its dead now).

All in all its a good upgrade from the cosmetic point of view and a must for PAYG customers but the downside are the 12 chinese tones that it gives you and as far as I know you cannot get rid of until someone brighter than me edits the flash for custom tones.
