my phone was cingular, the code worked, excecpt subset lock was still active, when i rebooted it asks for password, i cant access the phone and the reset code doesnt help...

codes worked great! my C417 is from Rogers Canada.

unfortunately with the EEPROM reset you lose all your data, but that's really not a big deal in comparison to having it unlocked! great stuff, thanks.

I get SP lock when I switch my phone on with another carrier's sim card and I cannot boot into the phone unless I enter the code. What is the code? I've got a Samsung C417 from Fido Canada.

This solution does not work on FIDO C417

I do not have the phone to try anything. But I know this procedure does not work with FIDO specific version of C417.

Will post if find any solution

Hello and great info on the forum here. my smart phone broke a few weeks ago and don t have bucks to get a new one right away.

I unlocked my dads old sgh-c417 and it s working ok, I can receive calls no problem but when I come to make a call it says " NOT ALLOWED "

Does anyone know why this could be.

I unlocked my mom's old Samsung SGH-C417 following this procedure.

She is taking it overseas and wanted an inexpensive phone to use.

One thing to note is that sometimes when you type a number, it will show up as a dash (-). Don't be alarm. Just keeping typing.

Her phone used to be on the Cingular/AT&T network.

Thank you for your instructions. I tried on my Cingular (AT&T) phone. Everything worked fine except the network lock stayed on.
