Flashing the J700 firmware

Hi everyone, I'm trying to flash my Samsung J700 phone, it's been playing up recently, bluetooth has stopped working and battery life is now miserable at less than 24 hours, I did buy a new battery but it's still rubbish. I've been told that flashing could solve my problems so I bought a E210 flashing cable from ebay, link below:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAMSUNG-G600-F210-J700-ETC-FLASH-UNLOCKING-UNLOCK-CABLE_W0QQitemZ220384878856QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_M obilePhones_MobilePhoneAccesories_MobilePhoneDataC ables_JN?hash=item220384878856&_trksid=p3286.c0.m1 4&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1% 7C240%3A1318

downloaded various versions of 'oneNAND' software and 3 flavours of firmware, followed a tutorial about the E210 cable but my phone seems totally invisible through the serial port on COM1 at 115200 (is there any way of checking it's connected before flashing process?). Using the USB results in the PC finding a modem but still not seen using the flashing software. The oneNAND software just says awaiting response from phone but nothing ever happens on either serial and USB connections. Cannot seem to initialise the phones boot loader like it says in the tutorial.
Tutorial instructions are:-
1. Phone needs to be off
2. Connect cable to phone & PC
3. Open ONE NAND FLASHER
4. Select flash files x 2 select option for BIN & TFS and then browse for flash files x2 STEP 3 & STEP 4
5. Once you get to STEP 5 press START and then just press the ON button on the phone for 1 second long enought for program should recognise phone and blue progess bar should scroll across as bottom of screen of program
6. Press Download (wait for 60 minutes or so)

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Yes, my first post but although I've been a member of the forum for a number of years I've always managed to find the solutions I was looking for within these pages without having to post. This Samsung J700 has me really stumped, I've unlocked, upgraded firmware and modded most of my phones in the past but this J700 has me beat! I've a feeling that there may be something more at fault than just the bluetooth and battery problem this is probably the reason why I cannot connect to it to flash the firmware.

Here's where I am at the moment, I have 6 versions of oneNAND flashing software, only 2 versions respond to the phone these are:-
OneNAND Downloader v1.4 For PNX6515(tfs4 v1.6&3disk) using this the flash process it hangs after:-
** Wait for Connect Request from Mobile...
** (POWER ON the PHONE!)
** Send '0x44' to SWIFT Chip
** Connection granted from SWIFT Chip
** Received 16 bytes from SWIFT chip
** Sending the customer ID and the same 16 bytes to SWIFT chip... OK!
** Try to change Timeout !
** Ok! Timout Changed(1600 mSecond)
** Setting downloading address (SCRAM: 0x1C000000)... OK!
** Downloading the pre-Loader (1856 bytes)...

OneNAND Downloader v1.8 stops at:-
** Wait for Connect Request from Mobile...
** (POWER ON the PHONE!)
** Send '0x44' to SWIFT Chip
** Connection granted from SWIFT Chip
** Received 16 bytes from SWIFT chip
** Sending the customer ID and the same 16 bytes to SWIFT chip... OK!
** Try to change Timeout !
** Ok! Timout Changed(1600 mSecond)
** Setting downloading address (SCRAM: 0x0C000000)... OK!
** Downloading the pre-Loader (1840 bytes)... Bad response(0xFF) from SWIFT Chip

I've tried every com port speed available but cannot get any further and yes I am using fully charged batteries, phone and 9v.
Any further advice much appreciated while I still have some hair left!

In device manager my com1 port baud rate is set to 115200, I have tried every com port speed available within the oneNAND software even the obvious 115200 but still cannot get beyond what I stated in my previous post. I've read a flashing guide and followed it to the book, I have no sim card in the phone and both batteries are fully charged. One thing that does puzzle me, I have 8 different versions of oneNAND software the only two that give a response are v1.4 and v1.8, the one that actually says it's for the SGH-J700 is v1.6 but that doesn't detect the phone at all???
I have read 'Flashing with the E210 cable' thread here:- http://www.cables4phones.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14
where there is a rapidshare link to download a multitude of flash software but strangely there isn't anything for the J700, also I have scoured the internet but cannot find anything where someone has actually flashed the J700 phone successfully!
Any help greatly appreciated
