Looking for firmware version 4.2.2 for SAMSUNG-SGH-1527

To make a long story short, I bricked my Mega it was running firmware version 4.2.2. When I took it to the cell repair store they put 4.4.2 in it. Now I cant use my SVOX voice engine because it force closes on this version. Also alot of other apps dont run correctly on it. They charged me $35 to restore my phone.

I have never personaly flashed my phone, but Im ready to learn if someone wants to point me in the right direction.

You might want to check if downgrading the firmware is even possible.

In many Samsung models trying to downgrade your phone firmware /bootloaders will hard brick the phone.

You want to do some research before you try anything.

I'm such a noob I think you're going to have to bring me up to speed on the topic.

with my PC I can format the hard drive and load in an image of my operating system the way I want it.

I thought that would be the same as what is called flashing for the phone.

So whatever operating system was on there would be forgotten and the thing would be replaced with the new Flash.

Am I incorrect is it going to save drivers from the old updated system?

Phones is different than computer hard drives.

Samsung uses Knox and fuses to make sure that in some model phones downgrading is not possible.

Too complicated and long to explain... Just do some reading here or XDA.. There is a lot on the subject.

I full agree with you.

One small example for ALL USERS is that NEWER DOWNGRADE A3/A5 Series becouse you Flash goes with a Full "PASS" but phone is Totaly Bricked.

Other WARNING Most Important with FW of 2016:

If have Update with "OTA" NEVER try to downgrade via Odin or some Box, Phone will be 100% "Hard Bricked"

Not want goes more in details becouse there are some Tip or model where is allowed this Downgrade but not want create mistake.

NOT DOWNGRADE YOUR Phones if not are Sure of what are doing!!!
